Jerry Seinfeld Blasts ‘Extreme Left’ Political Correctness For Ruining Comedy

by State Brief

A segment from a recent interview with comedy legend Jerry Seinfeld is going viral online after the comic slammed the “extreme left” for destroying humor with political correctness.

Speaking with The New Yorker‘s “Radio Hour” podcast, Seinfeld noted when he was younger most Americans had a selection of funny shows to watch on television at the end of the day.

“It used to be you would come home at the end of the day, most people would go, ‘Oh Cheers is on. Oh, M.A.S.H. is on. Oh, Mary Tyler Moore is on. All In The Family is on.’ You just expected there’ll be some funny stuff we can watch on TV tonight. Well, guess what? Where is it?” he asked.

Seinfeld added, “This is the result of the extreme left, and P.C. crap and people worrying so much about offending other people.”

He went on to explain how modern shows are examined by so many groups in order to gauge public response and avoid triggering any sects of people, that the end result is the death of the show’s comedy.

The brief comment is being widely spread online as millions of Americans on both sides of the political aisle resonate with the oversensitivity of newer generations.

X owner Elon Musk wrote, “Make comedy legal again!” in response to the video.
